electric atmosphere lots of people outside an institution filled with amazing huge contemporary paintings fresh and exciting

10:30 in tears. 13:40 out, exhausted charged full of learned knowledge appreciation

one of the most striking things about the exhibition venue aside from the vast twist of giant galleries was the Royal Academy sky lights which cause the room to change in atmosphere in relation to what is happening outside in the sky. shadows and sunlit clouds whisking across the roof make the internal tone morph as light does when one is outside. This was incredibly apt setting for Hockey’s painting which vividly capture morphing light through changing seasons and weathers
